Lavender essential oil is obtained through steam distillation of lavender flower buds. Known for its aromatherapeutic properties, when used in a room diffuser or oil burner, it provides a rebalancing and calming sensation. It can be added (one or two drops are sufficient) to cosmetic formulations such as face or body cream, shampoo, conditioner, and scrub. This essential oil can also be added to the bath or a whirlpool for a relaxing sensory experience. Lavender essential oil also has antibacterial, antifungal, soothing, decongestant, and analgesic properties. It is advisable to apply it diluted using a carrier oil, or by mixing a few drops with other formulations.
